Ce voyage vers plusieurs influences delivrent une évolution libre d’un repertoire très éclectique dont l’inspiration agrémente un solide technique ou brille de splendides variations. J’avais commencé à mettre ce disque pendant un repas, m’attendant à une ambiance irlandaise entraînante. Quelle erreur colossale ! D’abord Roy Eales est anglais, vit dans le Trégor depuis 25 ans, et est journaliste et poète (au minimum). Parfaitement intégré dans son territoire, il y connaît tous les musiciens. Et c’est avec une brochette des meilleurs d’entre eux qu’il a choisi d’interpréter ses textes. Il faut bien écouter, se laisser porter par des ambiances très diversifiées, truffées de trouvailles, de mélodies, de rythmes, d’humour, de mots en français, anglais, breton, gallois et allemand. On ne comprend bien sûr pas tout ce qui est dit, mais on le ressent. On est dans le domaine de la musique contemporaine, mais sensuelle, captivante de façon inattendue. (Pat)
