Alain DUPEUX: Radio R E C, SCAER, Brittany.

“We stay within originality and the perfection of instrumentations thanks to splendid harmonies that transform this magnificent concept of a musical meeting around a sound cohesion that takes this musicale writing towards influences also diversified such as traditional, baroque, jazz, classical etc, etc.

All of this transcribes magnificent suites to create an offbeat universe where alternations offer inventive orchestrations. Roy Eales allows us to discover a splendid sound exploration which covers several horizons that manipulate with ease and simplicity some superb improvisations with incredible cohesion.

This voyage towards many influences releases a free evolution of a very eclectic repertoire whose inspiration embellishes solid technique or radiates splendid variations.

The melodies, the slow tempos and the rhythmic offer subtle versions that nourish an innovative texture of an artistic fusion that reinforces this magnificent creation where the alchemy of the rhythms offer an amazing musical adventure.

I loved his incredible versions inspired by the talent and grace of the nuances.”

"Friday night Roy Eales, poet, surrounded by an impressive palette of artists gave an exceptional concert in Cavan, Brittany, transformed for the occasion. Sometimes surprised, spoilt by the musicians, amazed by the mixture of nationalities and languages, the public of Trégor, Brittany, had answered unanimously that they were present. People and languages —Welsh, Breton, German, British, French — all ended well, enjoying this moment of their meeting caused by the poet.”

November: Roy Eales and his friends "

"In November, the concert of Roy Eales and his friends Just in case, poems in music in five languages, a project of four years of work. For this magnificent European project, the idea was to vibrate languages using multilingualism in as many musical pieces as possible. With each poem, the musicians invent a musical painting, marry Breton, medieval, classical, baroque, contemporary, jazz influences ... even start on improvised themes. Poetry and music are of equal importance in this performance, as are all five languages. They complement each other and answer each other.”

Roy Eales and his friends: Just in case

"Roy Eales is English, lives in Brittany (Trégor) for 25 years, and is a journalist and poet (at least). Perfectly integrated in his territory, he knows all the musicians. And it is with a skewer of the best of them that he chose to interpret his texts. We must listen, let ourselves be carried by very diverse atmospheres, riddled with finds, melodies, rhythms, humour, words in French, English, Breton, Welsh and German. Of course we do not understand everything that is said, but we feel it. We are in the field of contemporary music, but sensual, captivating — unexpectedly. (Pat). "

Roy Eales and his friends :
Just in case

(Pat)
